- The International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group, promotes sustainable growth in developing countries through private sector investment, capital mobilization, and advisory services. Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF), established in 2010 by the Government of Indonesia with IFC, ADB, and other partners, finances private infrastructure projects in Indonesia, applying its Social & Environmental Management System (SEMS) aligned with IFC and ADB safeguards and national laws. With World Bank technical assistance, IIF developed tools to enhance E&S risk screening (including climate and gender) and quantify SEMS benefits. A portfolio review and SEMS update, incorporating climate change and sustainability policies, will be conducted by a consultant team of international and Indonesian experts to: (i) assess E&S risks and mitigation in pre-2021 projects; (ii) identify residual/emerging risks; (iii) evaluate SEMS effectiveness and compliance with evolving requirements; and (iv) strengthen IIF-s S&E capacity and risk management processes.
