The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking offers for Water and Sanitation Technology Assessment in Health Care Facilities in the Western Pacific RegionBACKGROUNDWater and sanitation infrastructures are fundamental to provision of quality and safely managed health services. The needs are greatest in health care facilities to achieve equitable access to safe water and sanitation[1] .Smart investment in drinking water mitigates, reduces cost and builds resilience to climate change[1]. Informed planning regarding choice of water sources and infrastructures are critical for longer-term sustainability of technology[2]. Several studies shows that climate resilient water supply technologies are cost-effective[3][4][5][6] and the benefit is that they are often ‘no regrets’ investment. Between 2021 and 2030, an estimated US$6.5 billion to $9.6 billion is needed to achieve full coverage of basic water, sanitation, hygiene, and waste services at public health facilities in the 46 least developed countries (LDCs)[7] .
