Expression of Interest are invited for Worker and Household Enterprise Survey (WHES). Publication Date: 08-Dec-2022 Expression of Interest Deadline: 05-Jan-2023 The World Bank is seeking the services of a qualified survey firm to conduct a multi-topic household survey broadly related to the informality of workers and household enterprises in Indonesia. Specific questions that the survey will collect data on include prevalence of informal work and employment, productivity, income and preferences of workers and household enterprises, as well as protection for workers and costs and benefits of informality for household enterprises. The face-to-face survey will be designed nationally and regionally representative, including stratification by urban/rural, provinces and island. A two-stage sampling design will be used with a random selection of clusters proportional to population in the first stage, followed by a listing of all households in selected clusters and about 10 households randomly selected per cluster in the second stage, with potential additional stratification of type of household per cluster. Data of around 6,000 households which may include a panel element from the World Banks Digital Economy Household Survey (DEHS) will be collected through CAPI ideally using professional data collection software, within a duration of 2-3 months. The respondents will be selected adult/s in the household-satisfying specific criteria, potentially requiring revisits if the adult is not present. The firm will be responsible for (i) translating, coding and piloting the questionnaire, (ii) planning and implementing data collection including training of enumerators, supervisors and coordinators while protecting privacy of respondents and implementing high standard quality assurance protocols including the use of daily dashboards while data collection is ongoing, (iii) processing and cleaning of data, and (iv) delivering weekly cleaned datasets in Stata together with meta information on replacements of respondents.
